The picture at left is a screenshot of the game from the first day of development and at right is a picture of the redesigned character.

12/27/2023 - Found better graphics for the Player, Coin, Dragon, and Apple sprites. Added a movement script to the player, and a collection system to the coin and apple. Made a series of platforms for the player to jump around on. Added an 8-bit music loop to fit with the gameplay. Took a custom font and used it to create a coin counter tracking coins up to sixteen. Made a script for the dragon to bounce around the screen and end the game if it hits the player. Added an effect where if the player is at the edge of the screen, they can teleport to the other side.

12/28/2023 - Added a pause menu activated using the 'P' key. Coded the ability to go through platforms when standing on top of them by pressing the down arrow key. Increased coin counter tracking amount to twenty-two. Coded a 45-second jump-boost effect when you eat the apple and a new tracker for the time left on the effect when you eat it. Added a pixelation effect of five to the background to fit with the pixelated style of the rest of the game. Redesigned the character sprite using blue hues to make the character more visible.

12/29/2023 - Changed the song that plays to be a softer version so that the player can focus on the gameplay. Edited the character sprite, changing the robe to be more purple to match the hat and making very minor changes to the character's staff. Added a play button that starts the game when clicked. Increased coin counter tracking amount to thirty-five.

12/30/2023 - Added three game modes, Easy, Normal, and Hard. Created a custom screen where you pick your game mode. Playtested and bugfixed since the game modes introduced lots of new glitches. Added a full-fledged title screen that appears when you first boot up the game. Increased coin counter tracking amount to forty.

12/31/2023 - Added a variable called 'dragon_speed' which makes the dragon faster or slower depending on what game mode you choose. Patched a glitch where by walking off a specific ledge you could clip into the ground. Made a tiny edit to the gameplay background.

01/01/2024 - No changes.

01/02/2024 - Fixed a glitch where the player was slightly clipped into the ground upon starting the game. Moved the play button down 15 pixels on the title screen. Made the player drop one coin on death so that they have to retrieve it on their next attempt.

01/03/2024 - Added a second dragon that appears only in Hard mode. Slowed the dragons in Hard mode down to balance there being two of them. Fixed a glitch where if you died next to the apple when you respawned the apple wouldn't be there but you wouldn't have jump boost either. Added a new game mode called Insane which is the hardest in the game. Insane mode has two dragons, both of which move faster than usual, the player movement is slower, and you only get forty seconds of jump boost instead of forty-five. Increased coin counter tracking amount to fifty.

01/04/2024 and 01/05/2024 - Implemented a system to win after collecting ten coins, upon which a win screen pops up displaying the time it took for you to beat the game up to 99.9 seconds.

01/06/2024 - No changes.

01/07/2024 - Fixed a glitch where in certain cases when you tried to respawn you would instantly die, starting a chain of dying whenever you use a new life. This made it so that whenever you encountered this glitch, you would have to restart. Fixed a glitch that had the second dragon still there after you had beaten the game. Added an options menu with one working setting.

01/08/2024 - No changes.

01/09/2024 - Changed the amount of coins needed to win from ten to fifteen. Changed timer's tracking amount to 999.9 seconds. Coded 'Superspeed Mode', which makes the player have lots of horizontal movement speed.

01/10 - 01/26/2024 - Took a long break. No changes.

01/27/2024 - Added a game over screen where you can try again after losing all of your lives. Made BoBo's hitbox more accurate.

01/28/2024 - Fixed a glitch that sometimes caused the game over screen to not pop up when you lost all of your lives. Changed the game over screen so that the retry button was the only button. Added some of the options from the options menu to the pause menu.

01/29/2024 - Changed the game's name from New Dragon Dodgers to Dragon Dodgers (remake). The game can now just be called Dragon Dodgers. Changed the title screen to have the title Dragon Dodgers instead of New Dragon Dodgers. Started work on a credits screen, and tried to find the names of people who I borrowed assets or music from.
